Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider shared a tweet, drawing the attention after saxophonist Jaleel Shaw recently shared on Twitter a payout table from various streaming services, with the highest value being $0.019 per stream from Napster, with YouTube appearing at the bottom with $0.00069 per stream:
“So if an artist is lucky enough to get one million plays on YouTube…the[y] get $690.”

An user pointed out the music industry- CD era, blaming the labels and bands releasing low-effort “filler” albums:
“That’s not how it happened. People turned to piracy because the industry basically sh*t on consumers by forcing you to buy an album with a single good track on it for $20, the rest of it being filler crap, and the whole thing only cost the studio $1.”
Snider replied back to the user with the following:
“However it happened, YOU justified taking the music and not paying for it. YOU decided you only like one song on a record we poured our hearts and souls into. The artist is the innocent party in the transaction.”

Dee: IF you “poured your heart & soul” into one of your records only had one good song on it, (Like “Hot Love” on Love is for Suckers), IF that’s your best, your best WON’T do!
