Gene Simmons has extended invitations to former KISS members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, inviting them to join the band for their upcoming performances. Unfortunately, both Frehley and Criss have declined the offer.
As KISS embarks on their highly anticipated farewell tour, aptly named the End Of The Road tour, their final shows will take place on December 1 and 2 at the iconic Madison Square Garden in their beloved hometown of New York City. Fans held hopeful expectations that the estranged duo of Criss and Frehley would reunite, even if only for a few nostalgic songs.
During an interview with Linea Rock, Simmons expressed his understanding of the desires of longtime fans, stating, “For the older fans who have been with us for 50 years, some of them are yearning to see Ace and Peter. The newer fans never had the chance to witness their performances, so they don’t know what they’re missing.”
Simmons further revealed, “I reached out to both Ace and Peter multiple times, asking if they would be interested in joining us for the encores or for a few shows. Unfortunately, they both declined the opportunity.” He expressed his uncertainty about their decision, adding, “I don’t know what else to say about that.”
However, Simmons emphasized that the door remains open for their return, stating, “We would always welcome them back. Additionally, there are several other prominent artists who expressed interest in joining us on stage for a song, but we are still considering our options. Ultimately, we may decide to conclude the tour the same way we began – with the four original members, each armed with a guitar. No keyboards, no synthesizers, just pure live music.”

Well done Pete and Ace
Don’t lower yourselves
Lower themselves? Ace and Peter aren’t even a shadow of themselves. Paul and Gene would be lowering themselves
No kidding! “no keyboards, no synthesizers, just pure live music” that’s a joke. They haven’t truly played live in years. I’d be surprised if they still remember how! So many years with backing tracks, lip syncing, fake guitar playing-sure Gene thinks it would be quite sprcial to do what they can’t do anymore. What real musician in their right mind would want to be part of that spectacle? Kiss-your timne was up long ago. Give it up finally.
Gene has always been greedy and overbearing to them. His offer is all about money, not nostalgia.. Good on Ace and Peter for stating the obvious..
they both deserved it years ago!
You are correct !!!
Well, It won’t be the ” four original members, each armed with a guitar” if it’s not Ace and Peter, would it now?
Vinny Vincent and Bruce Kuilck
They would join in for a reunion if they get paid..There is no money on the table for either Peter of Ace.Pay them and pay them handsomely and they will come. And the fans will give the respect to Gene and Paul that they deserve.
Hope Bruce gets a berth great member
He will. He’s the best guitarist of them all in my opinion.
Ace & Peter have both told me they aren’t interested in going on stage with Gene & Paul. Bruce is willing to if and when asked, Vinnie as of now hasn’t been asked.
The question is will they do anything to recognize Eric (Paul Caravello) Carr & Mark (Norton) St. John.
Ace and Peter were once lovers so they have a special bond between the two of them.
lol 😂
At the end of this thing it is my dearest hope these 4 guys reunite at the very last show even if it cost the kiss camp a million for each for Acw and Pete I think truly Eric and Tommy would want it no other way theirs really nothing else to say get the boys back on stage in make up and let’s say goodbye the right way we wanted the best we are asking for the best one last time for the fans enough said
Unbelievable. Some us have been with KISS since the beginning. Both Ace and Peter should do it for the fans.
Gene offered zero money from what I’ve heard from the Ace and Peter camps. That’s not a real offer, just another way for the greedy Jew Gene Klein to make more money on a DVD or something like that! lol
I think it shows class from Gene and Paul to have Ace and Peter join them … coming full circle …
they both suck now anyway lol
Simmons failed to comment that they had offered Criss and Frehley the bare minimum amount of compensation for their participation. And he also seems to be insulting younger fans by insinuating that they don’t know the difference between the “old” and the “new” Kiss, when there are tons of audio and video recordings of the original lineup, and they clearly DO.
I do not agree with you.. I think they’re being petty over this …I know they haven’t been treated very well over the years by Gene Simmons but these are the final shows & I have tickets for the very final show …I turn 53 years old tomorrow and have been a Kiss since I was 6 years old… Ace Frehley has been my idol since then , & I hope he will be there in some capacity for his Legion of fans that will be crushed if he’s not there.. and that goes for Peter as well… the thought of him walking on stage in make up one final time to play Shock Me & New York Groove will be epic & Legendary and it gives me the Goosebumps..
I couldn’t come back to a band I helped start to again to be as an associate I could get that at working for Walmart. It would be equal in every way or no way, nothing personal to the fans but I’m a human being not a stepford wife! SIR Weeble
Do it for the fans! You owe everything to them. Put aside your egos, your attitudes, your money and pay back the fans.
If it’s going to be televised which it is now. They are making a killing. Give them a couples of million for 2 songs each in a the encore with a rock n roll all night with everybody.
Ace & Peter would come out if they were paid. Where is it said in Gene’s statement that they offered them $$$ to join them and they refused?? They only refused because there is either very little or no money on the table. If Gene & Paul give them a reasonable offer that they justly deserve, then only maybe we will see all 4 pf them on stage one last time. But alas, I don’t think it will happen… as they say, no money, no candy… lol
Two sides to every story I wonder what the other side says and or what the actual truth is
ACE & PETER are to busy blowing each other off, the word on the street is they suck good now. Who wants to see PISS anyway?!?!?!
Go watch the reunion video from 1996. It took Peter a really long time to get back into playing shape. Ace has been OK until the last six months. He has slow down noticeably and his life performances are not what they were even a year ago. He’s phoning it in. Of course if they have everything tracked, it really doesn’t matter. I have not desire to see the last show. It will be a carbon copy of what they’ve been doing on tour all year. The show is already programmed.
