In 2019, Netflix introduced a riveting biographical film titled ‘The Dirt,’ chronicling the legendary journey of Mötley Crüe. Recently, Mike Nelson probed John Corabi to shed light on whether the film accurately captured the wild essence of the band’s earlier days. In response, Corabi shared his perspective during a recent interview:
“Absolutely, it was pure insanity. Drama and chaos were our constant companions, a sentiment I’ve detailed in my book. Despite my disappointment in Vince’s return, I felt a sense of relief not having to deal with that turmoil anymore. So, all in all, it had its merits.”
The conversation also delved into the well-publicized clash between Mick Mars and Mötley Crüe. Corabi unveiled Mars’ choice to maintain distance from the feud and remain unresponsive to communication attempts:
“You know what? My take on this is: I’m clueless. Mick has chosen not to engage with any outreach, and I’m not in contact with Tommy [Lee], Nikki [Sixx], or Vince [Neil]. While I can’t offer a definitive answer, I’m not surprised by any of it. That’s all I can say.”
During previous interviews, The Dead Daisies frontman hinted at his limited interaction with Mars amidst the band’s controversy. In a recent exchange with Eddie Trunk’s Trunk Nation, Corabi mentioned the former Mötley Crüe member’s upcoming album. Reflecting on his communication efforts, he revealed:
“I sent Mick a text when the initial press release surfaced. Strangely, he didn’t respond – which was unusual for Mick. I was in Switzerland at the time, and I messaged his wife, Seraina, saying I was in her homeland. She swiftly replied, mentioning her Christmas plans. I then asked about Mick’s well-being. Radio silence.”
This narrative highlights the enigmatic stance Mars has taken amid the turbulence, keeping fans and observers intrigued about his current pursuits and state of affairs.
