Guitarist John 5 had a recent conversation with Keny Aronoff where he discussed how AC/DC and Van Halen were on the same level with Motley Crue. The guitarist said how he went to rehearsals with MC explaining that he didn’t have to learn a single song:
“When I went for the rehearsal, I didn’t have to learn anything. I knew every song… (starts playing a riff) Great stuff, man. (It’s the) Greatest, greatest, greatest.”
Meantime, he started playing a riff from Motley Crue and said why he believed the band was another level when it came to producing creative riffs:
“They just have such a distinct riff and all that stuff. It’s incredible stuff. (They are on the same) level on AC/DC or Van Halen, or anything like that.”
Once that guitar kicks in, you know exactly who you're listening to. @MotleyCrue created their own PLANET with their sound.
