In a recent interview with Long Island Weekly, Geddy Lee, the bassist/vocalist of RUSH, discussed the possibility of creating more music in the near future.
Currently promoting his upcoming memoir “My Effin’ Life,” Lee expressed his renewed interest in the studio after rediscovering a couple of songs that were left off his solo album, “My Favourite Headache” (2000). He found the experience of revisiting these songs enjoyable and expressed a desire to fix them up and breathe new life into them.
Lee mentioned, “I recently discovered a couple of songs that had been left off my solo album [2000’s ‘My Favourite Headache’). Listening to them was really quite fun, and I decided that I wanted to see about fixing those up and just breathing some fresh air into them.” He indicated that both he and his longtime bandmate Alex Lifeson, RUSH’s guitarist, would like to return to the studio and explore what might happen.
Additionally, Lee shared that he has personal ideas he’d like to develop. However, he acknowledged that his current commitments, such as the book tour and a TV show, are keeping him occupied. Once these commitments are fulfilled, he expressed a desire to start playing again, emphasizing that he doesn’t like to plan too far ahead and prefers to prioritize things differently in this phase of his career.
Having released only one solo album, “My Favourite Headache,” during a period of uncertainty for RUSH, Lee’s comments suggest a potential return to the studio for new musical endeavors with Lifeson.

I love RUSH!
I would love nothing more than to hear new music from Geddy and Alex! I’d love even more to play with those guys if they ever wanted another guitar player to play with, even though I’m probably not near good enough.
