MOTLEY CRUE took the stage in Japan on November 3rd, and the noticeable use of “backing tracks” during the performance of the song “The Dirt” raised eyebrows. Vince Neil’s apparent lip-syncing further fueled suspicions, suggesting that prerecorded audio was channeled through the PA system.
A comment on the posted video emphasized the perceived reliance on backing tracks, stating: “The Dirt is all backing tracks; Vince is not singing.”
This incident follows a lawsuit filed by the band’s former guitarist, Mick Mars, earlier this year. Mars accused his ex-bandmates, Sixx, Lee, and Neil, of using backing tracks during last year’s The Stadium Tour.
The previous year witnessed drummer Tommy Lee being exposed for employing backing tracks towards the tour’s conclusion. Moreover, Nikki Sixx faced scrutiny when, despite having both arms raised during a concert earlier this year, bass notes continued to emanate without any visible contact with the instrument.
