Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke took to Twitter to assert his claim as a trailblazer in the rap and metal fusion genre. Sharing an image symbolizing his dissenting stance, he wrote, “Me in 2013 doing rap and metal my own way.”
Then, a user responded to the singer, expressing their opposition to Ronnie:
“Rap and metal was going on long, long before that. While you were still doing pop punk, there were plenty of bands doing rap rock.”
The musician noted in his response:
“Not the way I do it. They do rap rock; I do rap and rock. How are you speaking English? You’re a dog.”
While some users praised Radke’s unique vocal style, others disagreed, pointing out other notable figures who preceded him in the genre. One comment suggested that Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Zack de la Rocha of RATM were more notable and gifted.
Falling In Reverse explored rap music with their second studio album, ‘Fashionably Late,’ blending metalcore with rap elements. In a 2013 interview, Radke expressed pride in this fusion, considering it the best work he had ever done.
