Recent updates from Showbiz 411 have brought attention to Richie Sambora, the original guitarist of Bon Jovi. He is set to reunite with his former band during an event at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 2, 2024.
The occasion is the 33rd annual MusiCares benefit gala, where Jon Bon Jovi will be honored as the Person Of The Year. This event serves as a fundraiser for individuals in the music industry, providing health and support services.
Sambora is among the lineup of artists who will pay tribute to the Bon Jovi vocalist by performing his songs during the event. The tribute is scheduled two days before the 66th annual Grammy Awards on February 4 at the Crypto.com Arena.
Anticipation for a Reunion
In a November interview at the Breeders’ Cup in California, Sambora revealed that discussions were underway about a potential return with the band. Recognizing the transformative impact of Bon Jovi’s music on listeners’ lives, the guitarist expressed openness to a reunion in an interview with People:
“So yeah, it definitely could happen. It’s just a question of when everybody’s ready to go do it. It will be a big, massive kind of undertaking.”
Regarding the timing of the comeback, he stated:
“I’m not sure. It’s up to peoples; it’s got to be right. That’s all. It’s time to do it, though. This is our 40th anniversary, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a ball.”
