Erik Grönwall, the current vocalist for Skid Row, addressed comparisons to former frontman Sebastian Bach and shared his thoughts on Bach’s comments about him in a recent episode of his YouTube series, where he responds to fan questions.
Regarding the frequent comparisons to Bach from the classic era, Grönwall expressed a laid-back attitude, stating, “I really don’t care if I’m compared to other singers. I think it’s just part of the fun. And people will always have their preferences and their opinions. And that’s okay.”
Despite the ongoing comparisons, Grönwall harbors no ill feelings towards Sebastian Bach. When asked if he has spoken to Bach since becoming the band’s frontman, he replied, “No, I haven’t. And I’m gonna say this. I have nothing but respect for Sebastian and what he did on, especially the first two albums, because they’re favorites of mine.”
Grönwall went on to express admiration for Bach’s work on the albums, particularly highlighting “Slave To The Grind” as one of the top 10 best vocal performances in rock and roll history, according to him. Despite some posts where Bach appeared to criticize Grönwall, the current frontman holds a positive outlook, stating, “If I were to meet him somewhere, I would love to just shake his hand and introduce myself and say ‘thank you for the inspiration.’ Obviously, I’ve seen some posts where it says that he’s jabbing at me, but that’s just fun.”

Rachel you used to be the coolest bassist on the planet live..now you are an idiot and have shown us all this for years.. not only do you trash the guy that defined SR to most of us, you are going to cause hate from fans that used to believe SR was the ultimate band.. I did. You are also going to create tension from the fans you have left toward Eric…go ahead and ruin what you have left
I love Skid Row. I’ve seen them twice this year. They sounded great and Eric can F’n sing. You are not a Skid Row fan. You are a Sebastian Bach fan. Stay where you are, Skid Row doesn’t need you. Go cry in the corner, no one wants to hear you.
shut up bolan snake and hill are skid row the bach albums were great but gronwall is killing it skids to the top cant wait till the follow up to the best album of 2022
If they only knew how much they’ve lost during all those years. They kept the name, but lost the fans.
