In a recent conversation with Theo Von, Kid Rock criticized Ticketmaster for exerting excessive control over ticket sales, highlighting concerns about the company’s fees. Despite his support for capitalism, the musician believes there’s a need to rein in Ticketmaster’s fees.
Kid Rock revealed that he had reached out to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam to collaborate on addressing this issue. He explained:
“I just saw Eddie Vedder recently at an event, and Pearl Jam was the first people that really went down this rabbit hole. And I just talked to him briefly. I was like, ‘Hey, I’m kind of going down that rabbit hole again.’ If you wanna get on board…’ ‘Cause this needs to be – You know, he’s obviously liberal and you know where my politics stand but I go, ‘This is something where I think we can get together on.’ Because we’re doing this for the people. For fans. Try to make things better, you know.”
The criticism against Ticketmaster stems from incidents like the one in 2022, where tickets for Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band’s tour were sold for over $5,000 due to surge pricing.
Although Ticketmaster responded by stating that less than 1.3% of tickets sold were priced over $1,000, both fans and artists have continued to criticize the company’s monopolistic pricing strategies.

The artists have the power to say resale can only be for price paid. Queen and Neil Young have done this. Also, do away with presales. It makes it so you have to go through Ticketmaster instead of the box office to avoid fees.
The artists have power to change this.
Presale is how promoters and venues track which band have more draw, keep presale, just make it physical tickets.
it’s probably the only thing rock and I will ever agree on, I doubt he cares about my opinion, and I certainly don’t care about his.
What do you need agree with him on ? I think he’s a straight shooter
Somebody needs to do something! TM is out of control. They just told me I can only sell my two concert tickets for the price of one. Where do they get off?!
