On Thursday, Kiss made headlines with the announcement of a significant deal involving the sale of their songs, brand name, and rights to Pophouse Entertainment Group, a Swedish company. According to Fortune, the deal is valued at over $300 million and includes plans for a Kiss avatar show in the United States.
The collaboration between Kiss and Pophouse marks a continuation of their partnership, as the Swedish company previously worked on ABBA’s live avatar show. During Kiss’s farewell tour last December at Madison Square Garden in New York City, fans were treated to a surprise appearance by the band members in digital avatar form at the conclusion of the show. This technology, developed by George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic in collaboration with Pophouse, has gained attention for its innovative approach to live entertainment.
While specific details about Kiss’s avatar plans have yet to be disclosed, Pophouse CEO Per Sundin hinted at exciting developments on the horizon. Sundin mentioned that fans can anticipate a biopic, a documentary, and an immersive Kiss experience in the near future. The much-anticipated avatar show is scheduled to debut in the latter part of 2027, with North America slated as the kickoff location. Sundin emphasized that the Kiss avatar experience will be distinct from the ‘ABBA Voyage’ concept, promising a unique and memorable entertainment spectacle for audiences.
