Motley Crue unleashed their latest single, ‘Dogs of War,’ on April 26. Nikki Sixx delved into it during a conversation with Interview magazine, shedding light on a potential full-length album. He dropped the bombshell stating ‘no album’ and elaborated:
“The landscape has shifted. You catch a glimpse of the album art. You sample a few tracks, and then you’re diverted. It’s all part of a playlist. So, we’re leaning towards crafting more top-tier songs rather than striving to pen down 10 or 11.”
He clarified:
“Even with ‘Dr. Feelgood,’ among our most triumphant albums, I could pinpoint some tracks that don’t quite reach the level of ‘Kickstart My Heart.’ It doesn’t imply they’re subpar, but I’d opt for 10 ‘Kickstart My Hearts’ over the next decade rather than four ‘Kickstart My Hearts’ alongside ‘Rattlesnake Shake’ and ‘Five Years Dead.’ Those are stellar album fillers. It’s just a shift in mindset for us now.”
The group recorded three tracks in early 2023. John 5 disclosed that two of these were originals, while one was a rendition of the Beastie Boys’ ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!).’
