In a recent interview with Riff X’s “Metal XS,” MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx discussed the band’s upcoming plans.
He elaborated (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):
“Right now, we’re focused on playing festivals, which will keep us busy until October. As for next year, nothing concrete yet. There have been discussions, but we’re not looking to record new music at the moment. We already have a couple of singles in the bag. Vince [Neil, CRÜE singer] is in Tennessee, I’m in Wyoming, and the other guys are in California, so getting together for studio time isn’t a priority right now. We prefer to have a clear inspiration or purpose before hitting the studio. Balancing schedules, touring, and family commitments is a lot, especially for me with a young daughter. The timing was perfect for us to work on these three songs and collaborate with [producer] Bob Rock, but there’s no rush to dive into that again.”
Discussing potential European tours in the coming years, Nikki commented: “We’re locked into ’24, and ’25 is still up in the air, but we’ll come up with something exciting for the fans. We recently toured Europe, so a quick return isn’t likely. However, we had an amazing time there last time around. Spending two months in Europe allowed us to really soak in the experience without feeling rushed. It was special having my family with me, enjoying both the band’s performances and exploring Europe.”
“I’m really embracing this pace of work,” Nikki emphasized. “I find it very fulfilling. We create music when the inspiration strikes, and we perform when it feels right. It’s a healthier approach compared to the burnout many artists experience from constant touring. I’m truly enjoying where we’re at.”
