Former Journey frontman Steve Perry is gearing up for the release of his latest holiday album, The Season 3, set to drop on November 8 through Dark Horse Records. This marks Perry’s first album with the renowned label, founded by the legendary George Harrison.
“I am so pleased to announce that I have just signed with George Harrison’s label, Dark Horse Records,” Perry shared. “I’ve got so much music inside me that has yet to be heard. Being able to work with a team that supports and respects my creative expressions is truly a dream come true.”
Reflecting on his love for holiday music, Perry explained how it has always held a special place in his heart. “I’ve always loved the magic in holiday songs. As a child, I’d hear them on the radio in my grandmother’s kitchen while she cooked. Today, those songs take me back to so many wonderful memories,” he said.
The upcoming album, The Season 3, was inspired by Perry’s long-standing desire to record a holiday collection. “The magic of music is a very emotional gift,” he explained. “The idea of recording a holiday record started many years ago and has now grown into my latest project. I’ve added six new tracks to this collection, bringing the total to 16. I hope this record brings you precious memories too.”
In addition to timeless holiday staples like “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” The Season 3 includes classic songs like “What a Wonderful World” and “Call Me Irresponsible.” The latter, which won an Academy Award in 1963, has been covered by legends such as Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. Perry’s version features a deeply personal touch—a duet with his late father, Ray Perry, who was also a musician.
To celebrate the album’s release, Perry has shared an animated video for his rendition of “What a Wonderful World.” Created by Magdalene Kennedy, the video showcases old family photos, adding a nostalgic and heartfelt visual to the song.
