In a recent interview with Michael Christopher from Daily Times, KISS frontman Paul Stanley shared his thoughts on the possibility of performing a one-off KISS show, despite the band having wrapped up their “End of the Road” farewell tour last December. Stanley indicated that while the band’s touring era may be behind them, he’s not ruling out future performances, whether that’s a special appearance on the Kiss Kruise or a spontaneous reunion with his bandmates for a few songs.
“Anything’s possible,” Paul said. “KISS is far from over, though the version of KISS we know is finished. However, having our hands and ideas still involved in how KISS evolves makes perfect sense. I’m excited for whatever comes next, even if I don’t know exactly what that will look like. I’m open to everything.”
Paul Stanley had previously discussed the potential of a one-off KISS performance in a January 2023 conversation with Yahoo! Entertainment’s music editor Lyndsey Parker. When asked if the final concert of KISS’s “End of the Road” tour truly marked the end of the band’s live shows or if there could be more performances in the future, including a Las Vegas residency, Stanley offered some insight.
“I really can’t say,” Stanley admitted. “But the ‘End of the Road’ tour marks the end of regular shows and full-scale touring. It’s just time.”
The rock legend went on to explain the physical demands of touring, noting how exhausting it can be for the band. “What we do is grueling,” he said. “If I could just walk on stage in jeans and a t-shirt, we could probably keep going for another 10 or 15 years. But what we do requires much more. We’re not like other bands. We’re athletes running around the stage with 30 or 40 pounds of gear. That’s hard to sustain for much longer.”
Despite this, Stanley emphasized that KISS’s future may still involve special performances, even though regular tours are a thing of the past. “So will we do more shows or one-offs? I really have no idea,” Paul said. “But the mindset is clear—our days of full-on touring and regular performances are behind us.”
