AC/DC’s legendary frontman, Brian Johnson, made an unexpected appearance on the newly released Carpool Karaoke festive special, leaving fans stunned.
The episode, A Carpool Karaoke Christmas, premiered on Apple TV last night (December 15), with Zane Lowe stepping in as the driver instead of the usual host, James Corden.
In this exciting special, Lowe drives through the streets of Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Springfield, joined by pop icons like Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, and Chappell Roan. Together, they perform a mix of their hit songs, classic holiday tunes, and some unexpected covers.
A particularly emotional moment happens during Lady Gaga’s segment, where she shares a touching memory of her late grandmother—a huge rock music enthusiast—singing AC/DC’s iconic Bon Scott-era track, “Highway to Hell.”
As the car drives along, Lowe tells Gaga they have a special stop to make, and to her surprise, Brian Johnson appears in the driver’s seat. The moment is a true shocker. Together, Johnson and Gaga belt out “Highway to Hell,” creating an unforgettable scene.
Gaga then shares an interesting tidbit with Brian, revealing that she was once part of AC/DC’s “Stiff Upper Lip” music video. “You wanna hear something funny? I was in the ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ video,” Gaga says to Johnson. “I was 17, just an extra in the back. I was headbanging, and they were, like, ‘Hmmm. Don’t headbang. We want it to be modern.’ I was, like, ‘No. There’s only one move that I can do.'”
