In an exciting turn of events, all of the stolen drums belonging to POISON’s drummer, Rikki Rockett, have been recovered. The drums, which were taken from Donn’s Drum Vault, the largest collection of rare and vintage drums in the world, have been safely returned to their rightful place.
Donn Bennett, the owner of Donn’s Drum Vault, shared the good news on December 10 via a post in the Drummers Of The Pacific Northwest Facebook group. “UPDATE. All of Rikki Rockett’s POISON stolen drums have been found!!!” he wrote. He went on to thank those who helped spread the word and express his gratitude to the Tukwilla Guitar Center for their swift response in handling the situation. “My sincere appreciation to everyone who helped spread the word. My deepest appreciation to our friends at the Tukwilla Guitar Center for their cool and quick action and for keeping the thieves occupied until the police arrived. Also to our new friends at the Burien Sheriff Department for their great police work and for being total pros! Thief was arrested. All of the drums were recovered and returned in perfect condition.”
Bennett also expressed his pride in the tight-knit nature of the drum community. “I feel deeply fortunate to be part of our drum community that watches out for each other like we all do. Keep it up. This is a big win for the good guys!”
The theft occurred from Donn’s Drum Vault warehouse in Burien, Washington. Initially, Bennett had posted a warning, along with images of the stolen drum kits, on social media, stating, “Stolen Drums!! Several drum sets from the collection of Rikki Rockett from POISON were stolen from our warehouse in Burien WA. They are all extremely unique and easily identified. Please let me know if you see them anywhere. Thanx!”
On December 12, Rockett shared his relief and excitement on social media, revealing that all of his stolen drum kits had been returned. One of the prized kits was a DW green-and-gray flamed drum set, which had been used during POISON’s 2022 “The Stadium Tour.”
The quick recovery of the drums was a victory not only for Rockett but also for the drum community, who rallied together to ensure the safe return of these unique instruments.
