Skid Row is currently in search of a permanent vocalist after Erik Grönwall’s departure due to health issues. Since then, the band has been treading cautiously, performing a few live shows with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale stepping in temporarily. Despite Sebastian Bach’s hopes of rejoining the band, it appears the rest of the group is not interested in reuniting with him.
“Right now, we’re actively auditioning vocalists,” bassist Rachel Bolan revealed in an interview with Loudwire Nights. “We’ve already had some great candidates, and we have a couple of people coming in for auditions in November.”
Bolan also hinted that more celebrity collaborations could be on the horizon, following the positive reception to their performances with Hale. “Yeah, we may do some more collaborations with famous friends,” he said. “A few people have told us they liked the Lzzy stuff and want to get involved. We’re open to trying it out—especially when they’re not on tour.”
He added, “So yeah, that’s definitely a possibility. We could do shows with more of our famous friends while we continue the search for a permanent vocalist.”
Meanwhile, Sebastian Bach has repeatedly attempted to reconnect with his former bandmates, but his efforts have been in vain. In one instance, he reached out to guitarist Scotti Hill with a heartfelt social media post, reminiscing about the long time since they were in the same room. However, Hill didn’t respond to the message.
Dave “Snake” Sabo, Skid Row’s guitarist, is equally firm in his stance against a reunion with Bach. “It’s not gonna happen,” Sabo stated bluntly during a recent chat. “I’ve said this before. I appreciate that people are interested in seeing that reunion, but at the end of the day, it’s about being happy in the situation you’re in. And for me personally, that’s where I stand.”
With Bach’s hopes dashed and the band focused on finding a new voice, it seems Skid Row is heading in a completely different direction, embracing new collaborations and auditions to shape the next chapter of their career.
