Joe Bonamassa recently shared a distressing update on social media, revealing that the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, California, have now become a serious threat to his prized vintage guitar and gear collection.
At this point, it’s unclear which of his legendary instruments are housed in Nerdville West, Bonamassa’s iconic home and guitar museum. While the fires are ravaging Los Angeles County, CNN has reported that the exact number of casualties remains unknown. Strong winds have only intensified the dangerous situation.
Bonamassa took to his social media platforms to update his fans, stating that while Nerdville West is safe for now, the future remains uncertain.
“It’s not in my hands anymore,” he wrote in his post. “A very hard place to be as a curator. It’s my lifetime of work.”
The musician acknowledged the inevitable risk of such a situation, but expressed disbelief that it had come so soon. “I knew this day would come eventually, but just not today. So far, so good tonight, but the situation is very fluid.”
He also took a moment to show his gratitude for the tireless efforts of the first responders. “A major thanks to the firefighters and first responders for giving it their all these past few days. Stay safe, Los Angeles. These are uncertain and unprecedented times.”
As the fire continues to spread, Bonamassa and many others in the area remain on high alert, uncertain of what the coming days may bring.
