In a candid conversation on The Chuck Shute Podcast, Oni Logan, former lead singer of Lynch Mob, discussed the money issues that have impacted his relationship with bandmate George Lynch. Despite previous talks of possibly recording a new album together, the two musicians have found it challenging to reconcile their financial expectations, a major factor in why they haven’t worked together recently.
Logan revealed that from the outset, he and George Lynch were partners in the band, both creatively and financially. He explained, “Well, I never was signed on in the first place as a hired gun. [George and I] were always 50-50 in partnership as far as the money and also on a creative level. So that has always remained right from the beginning.”
Because of this agreement, Logan pointed out that he has often stepped away from touring with Lynch Mob, as it wasn’t part of the deal they originally made. “That’s why you’ll see me not go out on tour [with Lynch Mob] because that is the deal that we started with and that’s the deal that we normally do when I’m with him,” he added.
However, Logan also expressed understanding of Lynch’s need to prioritize his own financial gain, stating that this has caused a rift between the two. “I understand that he has a need to go out and make it favorable for him, so that’s why we’re probably not working together right now,” Logan shared. “Well, that is the reason why we’re not working together because he’d rather favor paying some fellas a fee instead of sharing the loot.”
Despite the tensions, Logan made it clear that he’s not closed off to future collaborations with Lynch. He even suggested that they could release new music together under the name “Lynch & Logan” — but only if they can work out the financial disagreements. For Logan, any future project would serve as both a celebration of their past success and an opportunity to create new music for their fans.
