Sammy Hagar is gearing up for an exciting new chapter in his musical journey with The Best of All Worlds Tour – The Residency at Dolby Live in Las Vegas. The residency, set to run from April 30 to May 17, 2025, promises fans a truly special experience, featuring a setlist exclusively crafted for the Las Vegas stage. Hagar will be joined by rock legends Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Kenny Aronoff, delivering a high-energy show that spans his extensive career with Montrose, his solo work, Chickenfoot, and, of course, his time with Van Halen.
Ahead of the residency, Hagar shared live footage of Van Halen performing “Don’t Tell Me What Love Can Do” from 1995, offering fans a glimpse into the song’s creation and the challenges it presented. According to Hagar, singing this track was always difficult due to both its vocal demands and its emotional weight. “Singing this song was always difficult. I wrote the lyrics about Kurt Cobain’s death,” Hagar explains. He continues by revealing that the song’s chorus was originally intended to be more positive, with the line “I wanna tell you what love can do,” but the band’s direction ultimately made it darker and more negative. “Bruce Fairbank, Ed and Al wanted to make it more dark and negative.” Despite the challenges of the track, Hagar is determined to include it in his upcoming residency, saying, “I’m going to add it to the show.”
Hagar’s residency is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans, as it will not only showcase his monumental hits, but also allow the band to experiment and evolve their setlist each night. “I plan on digging deeper into the Van Halen catalog, and my solo career, Montrose and Chickenfoot, as well,” Hagar reveals. “The fans are in for a lot of surprises.” The residency offers the perfect environment for Hagar and the band to fine-tune their performances, making it distinct from the typical touring experience.
With the residency taking place in the intimate 5,200-seat Dolby Live venue, Hagar is excited to offer a concert that’s both personal and explosive. “I’m so looking forward to this residency and being able to stay in one place so we can get the sound and production completely dialed in,” Hagar says. He adds that without the hectic schedule of traveling on tour, he’ll have more time to rehearse and make changes to the show as it progresses.
Presented in partnership with Live Nation and MGM Resorts International, The Best of All Worlds Tour – The Residency offers fans a chance to witness Sammy Hagar and his bandmates as they deliver an unforgettable, hit-filled performance in the heart of Las Vegas.
