Sammy Hagar is making plans to do more than just donate money in response to the ongoing California wildfires—he’s ready to take more impactful action.
Taking to social media, the legendary rocker not only addressed the devastating fires but also honored the memory of Sam Moore, the renowned soul singer. In his post, Hagar shared, “I know there’s so much heartbreak and devastation going on in southern California right now, but I have to share the passing of Sam Moore. The original soul man has left us to join his many brothers and sisters in the afterlife.”
Hagar also reflected on his memorable experience performing with Moore, writing, “This once-in-a-lifetime experience I had rehearsing in Las Vegas for the wonderful Cleveland Clinic Nevada & Keep Memory Alive event is one of the highlights of my musical collaborations. Here in his mid-80s that voice, that voice, that voice. Rest in peace, soul brother. Love and prayers to Joyce and the family.”
A follower suggested that Hagar donate money to support those who have lost everything in the fires, but Hagar responded with a promise to do much more. He replied, “I will do much more than that. Coming up.”
The fires have already claimed at least 16 lives, left 13 people missing, and destroyed over 12,000 structures. Musicians like Brad Wilk and Larry LaLonde have also been affected, with Wilk sharing in an Instagram post, “Thanks to everyone reaching out. We are good, but had to evacuate last night. Hosed down the house and grabbed the humans and animals and split…. Oh, I did grab one thing from the house… this VH ‘Woman And Children First’ o.g. tee… very apropos. Everybody please be careful and stay safe.”
With so much loss, Hagar’s promise to go above and beyond to help shows his commitment to supporting those affected by the fires in California.
