Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, is preparing to say his final goodbye to the fans who have supported him throughout his legendary career. On July 5, 2025, he will reunite with the original BLACK SABBATH lineup — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — for a historic farewell show in Birmingham, the city where it all began.
Titled Back To The Beginning, this momentous concert will take place at Villa Park, the iconic home of Aston Villa, in Birmingham, UK. Tickets for this grand farewell will go on sale at 10 a.m. on February 14, and with a lineup like this, they’re expected to sell out fast.
Though the night will be a celebration of Ozzy’s career, the show will also feature performances from some of the biggest names in rock and metal. Support acts include METALLICA, SLAYER, PANTERA, and more, all joining forces to honor the legendary band that put Birmingham on the map as the true birthplace of heavy metal.
In addition to the iconic BLACK SABBATH reunion, a stellar group of musicians will take the stage, including Billy Corgan (THE SMASHING PUMPKINS), Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE), Fred Durst (LIMP BIZKIT), Jonathan Davis (KORN), Wolfgang Van Halen, and many others. Morello, who will also serve as the musical director, promises an unforgettable experience. “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever,” he says.
For Ozzy, this show is deeply personal. “It’s my time to go ‘Back To The Beginning’… time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” he said. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
The event, which celebrates nearly six decades of BLACK SABBATH’s influence on music, will also feature performances by some of metal’s most respected acts: ANTHRAX, ALICE IN CHAINS, GOJIRA, HALESTORM, and LAMB OF GOD, among others.
Ozzy’s final performance with BLACK SABBATH will mark the first time the original lineup has performed together in 20 years. METALLICA, who will play just before Ozzy’s solo set, expressed their excitement to be part of this historic occasion. “We are beyond honored and humbled to be invited to perform at BLACK SABBATH’s final show, back where it all began in Birmingham, England,” the band said. “It will be a night to remember.”
As a tribute to Ozzy and BLACK SABBATH’s legacy, all profits from the event will benefit charities including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Fans who have followed Ozzy’s journey will be treated to one final celebration of his groundbreaking contributions to rock music, and the event promises to be one of the most significant nights in metal history. METALLICA added, “Our admiration for BLACK SABBATH runs deep, and we cannot wait to be a part of this historic event! We’ll see you in Birmingham!”
This will be more than just a concert; it will be a farewell to one of rock’s greatest icons in the place that gave birth to it all.
