Don Dokken, frontman of the iconic rock band Dokken, recently opened up about his future in music during an interview with Cassius Morris.
“I feel after 50 years and 13 records, I figure I’ve written enough music,” Dokken said. “I’m okay with it… [But] never say never. Maybe [former Dokken guitarist] George Lynch and I will get together and write an EP…”
While Dokken seems content with his body of work, he’s not completely ruling out the idea of writing again—especially with Lynch.
“George and I did talk about it briefly, and I said I don’t think I have the energy in me spiritually to knock out a whole record,” he continued. “That’s a lot of work. But I said we might wanna do four or five [songs].”
Their last collaboration dates back nearly a decade.
“We did a new song eight years ago. It was called ‘[It’s] Just Another Day’. That was [recorded by] all original [Dokken] members,” he explained. “We went to Japan [and played a few shows with that lineup], and that was an experiment to see how we got along and all that. And that was a cool video.”
Though his passion for writing full-length albums may be fading, Dokken’s openness to smaller projects—especially with his former bandmate—keeps the door cracked for a potential reunion.
Fans can’t help but wonder: could one final EP bring the classic Dokken energy back to life?
