Motley Crue has officially canceled their scheduled performance at the 2025 Boardwalk Rock Festival as lead singer Vince Neil continues to recover from a recent medical procedure. This marks another setback for the band, which had already postponed their Las Vegas residency from spring to September. Now, they’ve announced that they won’t be performing at the festival on May 17 either.
Motley Crue Explains Absence from Boardwalk Rock Fest
In a previous statement, Motley Crue had explained the delay in their Las Vegas residency, but they did not mention their participation in the Boardwalk Rock Festival. However, the band has now released an update regarding the festival, explaining why they will not perform and confirming a replacement act for their slot.
Originally, Motley Crue was scheduled to co-headline the festival on May 17 alongside Def Leppard. Now, Alice in Chains will step in to take their place.
The band’s statement reads as follows:
“Motley Crue will be unable to perform at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Md., on May 17 as Vince Neil is recuperating after a required medical procedure advised by the doctors. Vince’s health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery. Please join us in wishing him well.”
They continue, expressing their gratitude:
“We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the show and appreciate your understanding. Our friends Alice in Chains are confirmed to take our place on May 17, and we are immensely grateful to them for stepping up and bringing their awesome show to Boardwalk Rock.”
“Thank you to all the Crueheads for your continued support. We can’t wait for Vince to fully recuperate and be back onstage again soon.”
