After officially wrapping up the final chapter of LYNCH MOB with their farewell tour “The Final Ride,” iconic guitarist George Lynch is already gearing up for his next act—and it’s anything but quiet.
In a new interview with Talking With Cars, Lynch confirmed that LYNCH MOB performed its final show on March 22, 2025, effectively ending the band’s 35-year run. But fans of Lynch’s shredding days are far from out of luck.
“Well, LYNCH MOB did its last show March 22nd, earlier this year. And so that’s it for touring for LYNCH MOB,” Lynch said. “So I have another entity partially put together, which will probably be a revolving door of different people. But right now I’m just tentatively calling it GEORGE LYNCH & THE MOB, so people can identify with my name and the fact that there’s still the LYNCH MOB aspect to that name without the bad connotations.”
The new project is designed for flexibility, allowing Lynch to work with a mix of musicians depending on availability.
“Most likely, yeah,” he said about the rotating lineup. “Because we aren’t gonna be touring solidly enough to really keep a band together. So it’ll just be probably a basket of different people that’ll rotate in and out…”
Among those returning are familiar names from the LYNCH MOB era. The summer shows will include Jaron Gulino on bass and Brian Tichy on drums, though the frontman for upcoming performances remains unconfirmed.
“The interesting thing is I’ve played with so many people in LYNCH MOB that a lot of those people are still friends of mine… So it’s easy.”
But that’s not all Lynch has in the pipeline.
A new LYNCH MOB release is on the way later this year, consisting of two albums packaged together—one a full live album, and the other a new studio album. According to Lynch, both records are complete and currently being mixed.
“We do have a LYNCH MOB record coming out… It’s gonna be a double album — it’s gonna be, well, actually two albums. Two separate albums but packaged together. So it’s a live album — full live show — and then also a studio album.”
While LYNCH MOB may have taken its final ride, George Lynch & The Mob is steering into a fresh chapter. With new shows, new music, and a flexible approach to touring, Lynch proves once again that he’s not slowing down—he’s just switching gears.
