Rock icon Sammy Hagar is reaffirming his lifelong commitment to fans—while acknowledging that nature may someday have the final say.
In a recent interview with Audacy Music, Hagar opened up about the future of his career and the emotional responsibility he feels toward the people who have supported him for decades.
“I have to [go to ’till the end]. I’ve made this commitment to my fans,” Hagar said. “I’ve taken them on a journey and asked them to accept me as who I am. They follow me around the world. I can’t drop them off someplace. I’m going as long as I can.”
While his passion for performing hasn’t waned, Hagar made it clear that he won’t compromise the quality of his shows. If his body or voice can no longer meet the demands of the stage, he’s prepared to step back—though not by choice.
“But trust me, the day I stand on stage and can’t sing and can’t perform the way I need to then I will have to quit,” he continued. “I’ll be forced to quit. I won’t quit, but I may be forced to quit someday.”
Hagar’s comments reflect both a deep loyalty to his fan base and a realistic outlook on the future of his career. Even as he pushes forward, he’s also making intentional, strategic changes to ensure his longevity in the music industry.
For now, though, the Red Rocker remains full speed ahead—honoring his legacy one performance at a time.
