Iron Maiden Launch ‘Run For Your Lives’ World Tour in Budapest with New Drummer and Rare Setlist Surprises
British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden kicked off their “Run For Your Lives” world tour on Tuesday, May 27, with a thunderous show at Papp László Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary. This tour launch marked the band’s first live performance with new drummer Simon Dawson, who stepped in following the departure of longtime drummer Nicko McBrain in December 2024.
The night was not just about a lineup change — it was a celebration. The 2025 world tour commemorates 50 years since bassist Steve Harris founded Iron Maiden in 1975. In honor of that milestone, fans are being treated to a career-spanning setlist featuring tracks from nine classic albums, ranging from Iron Maiden to Fear Of The Dark.
Adding to the hype, an official video recap of the Budapest performance is already available online, showcasing the band’s most elaborate and visually spectacular stage production to date.
