After days of silence, Sharon Osbourne has publicly responded for the first time since the passing of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath. Her short but heartfelt comment came in reply to a tribute post shared by Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale on Instagram.
Gavin Rossdale’s Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
Rossdale, who met Ozzy through Ozzy and Sharon’s son, Jack Osbourne, posted a touching tribute on social media:
“RIP OZZY – A great man and a true legend. I met Ozzy through Jack just a few times but he was so warm and kind and funny and I love that memory. Sending much love to his family at this difficult time. Rest in power.”
The post joined a growing list of tributes from across the entertainment and music industries, celebrating Ozzy’s enormous impact on heavy metal and rock culture.
In response to Rossdale’s message, Sharon simply wrote:
“Bless you.”
Though brief, the message carries emotional weight. It’s Sharon’s first personal public comment since the Osbourne family issued a joint statement announcing Ozzy’s passing:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
