Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away from a heart attack, according to a report by The New York Times. His death certificate, filed in London by his daughter Aimée Rose Osbourne, confirms the cause of death and also notes that Ozzy had been suffering from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.
The certificate also states that the fatal heart attack occurred “out of hospital,” further raising questions about the sudden nature of his passing.
Two days after the news broke, Daily Mail reported that an air ambulance was dispatched to Ozzy’s residence, Welders House, located in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, on the morning of July 22. The helicopter reportedly landed in a nearby field around 10:30 a.m., just 15 minutes after it was called. By 12:30 p.m., the emergency crew returned to their base at RAF Benson in South Oxfordshire.
“We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday,” a Thames Valley Air Ambulance spokesperson told Daily Mail.
Adding to the emotional weight of the moment, Ozzy’s 85-year-old sister, Jean Powell, spoke with The Mirror and expressed how unexpected his death truly was.
“He was frail but it still came as a shock,” she said. “He still had plans and things he wanted to do. We don’t know the details of his death; it’s still too early. It’s just so sad. I’m just thankful he died in England.”
Ozzy’s death marks the end of a turbulent but legendary life in music. He had been dealing with a series of health challenges in recent years, but according to family and close friends, he remained determined to continue working on various creative projects.
As the rock world mourns the loss of one of its most influential voices, fans around the globe continue to pay tribute to the “Prince of Darkness” — a man whose music and legacy shaped generations.
