Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has set the record straight about the band’s future, following growing speculation after their recent Las Vegas residency shows.
After the concerts wrapped up, some fans took to social media to suggest that the performances might mark the band’s final chapter. One fan even wrote directly to Sixx, thanking the band for more than four decades of music and assuming retirement was next.
“I think these are your final shows. Thanks for giving us 40+ years. Enjoy family time,” the fan commented.
Sixx, however, wasted no time in responding.
“Whoa slow down,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “We never said that.”
No Retirement Plans for Mötley Crüe
Sixx’s short but direct response puts to rest any rumors that the band was walking away after more than 40 years on stage. While the residency was seen by some as a celebratory sendoff, the bassist made it clear that Mötley Crüe is not finished yet.
The Las Vegas shows were another high-energy chapter in the band’s legendary career, rather than a final bow. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the Crüe isn’t packing it in.
Why the Rumors Started
Speculation about retirement isn’t new for Mötley Crüe. Back in 2014, the band signed a so-called “cessation of touring agreement”, announcing a “Final Tour” and claiming they would never hit the road again.
But in true Crüe fashion, they returned in 2019, tearing up that agreement and launching another wave of tours. Since then, they’ve continued to perform worldwide, often sharing the stage with longtime peers like Def Leppard.
Given that history, it’s easy to see why fans wondered whether the Las Vegas residency might be the true curtain call. Sixx’s words, though, confirm otherwise.
What’s Next for Mötley Crüe?
While Nikki Sixx didn’t reveal any specific plans beyond the residency, the bassist’s statement signals that the band has more left in the tank. Whether it’s another tour, festival dates, or new music, Mötley Crüe fans should expect more in the years ahead.
For now, the only thing clear is that retirement isn’t part of the conversation.
Mötley Crüe: Still Shouting at the Devil
After over four decades, Mötley Crüe continues to defy expectations — and even their own promises. Their energy on stage and dedication to their fans show no signs of fading.
Sixx’s blunt reassurance, “We never said that,” is a reminder that while the rumors will keep swirling, the Crüe isn’t done rocking just yet.
