Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach paid tribute to KISS legend Ace Frehley during his October 17 concert at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, performing a fiery cover of “Shock Me.”
The performance served as both a high-energy highlight of the night and a heartfelt nod to the late KISS guitarist, who once called Connecticut home.
Sebastian Bach Salutes “Space Ace”
Before launching into the song, Bach spoke directly to the crowd, his enthusiasm overflowing as he rallied the audience of rock fans.
“[Have] we got any f*cking KISS fans in the audience tonight?” Bach shouted. “You know how lucky we are right now to be alive with our friends, playing rock and f*cking roll music, having a drink, having some f*cking fun, enjoying life. We are lucky.”
He continued by giving special recognition to Ace Frehley, whose influence helped shape Bach’s own rock journey.
“And I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be doing this without f*cking Ace Frehley, lead guitar. And I’m sure you know this, but Ace Frehley was a resident of Connecticut. All right?! That’s the f*cking best you can do? This is your hometown boy right here. So in honor of Space Ace — Space Ace from Connecticut — Ace Frehley, lead guitar. ‘Shock Me.’”
With that, Bach and his band ripped into the KISS anthem, sending the arena into a frenzy.
A Longtime Friendship and Collaboration
Sebastian Bach and Ace Frehley’s connection goes back decades. The two worked together on the track “Know Where You Go” for drummer Anton Fig’s 2002 solo album “Figments.”
At the time, Bach called the experience “a dream come true and an honor,” expressing how much he admired both Frehley and Fig for their musicianship and legacy.
A Celebration of Rock Legacy
Bach’s tribute underscored how deeply Ace Frehley’s influence still resonates within the rock community. His energetic performance of “Shock Me” not only honored the KISS guitarist but also celebrated the spirit of live music — something Bach made sure to emphasize throughout the night.
The moment captured exactly what Sebastian Bach has stood for throughout his career — keeping rock alive, loud, and unapologetically passionate.
