Majestic, bizarre and passionate – SepticFlesh have been haunting the scene for more than two decades and their unique way of combining crushing death metal with orchestral elements and disturbing visual concepts would never cease to impress. One and a half year after the release of the mighty „Titan“, the Greeks are still touring Europe, this time together with Canada’s Kataklysm and the Belgian butchers of Aborted.
Metal Wani’s Anne Catherine took this chance to catch up with guitarist and orchestration mastermind Christos Antoniou to find out how he first discovered his love for orchestral music and heavy metal, why he’s not into “Twilight” and how much effort and endurance it takes to make all his musical and artistic visions come to life. Even singer Seth joined the interview for a minute, to explain a simple but very important concept that SepticFlesh has followed through their entire career: If they have a particular idea in mind, they make it happen, no matter how difficult it is. Find out more about their struggles as artists these days, when they plan to enter the studio to record a new album slated to release in 2017 and how hard the terrible fire incident in Romania struck them, in our interview below.
