Given how awesome Belgian waffles and beer are, it only makes sense that the country’s metal bands are the same as well; specifically, the gore-lords of Aborted. Aborted has a consistently unique sound that always raises the bar for bands all across the metal world. Unrelenting and unyielding, they bring their A-game with every track. Following this trend, Aborted’s new album ‘RetroGore’ is yet another addition to a very solid discography. Following up ‘The Necrotic Manifesto’, ‘RetroGore’ (Click Here To Read Our Review) feels like a seamless evolution of their musical prowess without the compromising of their unique sound.
Gearing up for the album release, Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi had a chat with ABORTED mastermind Sven De Caluwe. The Interview is divided into two parts. In this Part, Sven discusses upcoming album “RetroGore”, fan response to Termination Redux EP released earlier this year, songwriting, recently Belgian attacks and seamless evolution of their musical prowess without compromising the unique sound. Sven also talks about working with Bij de Leij and Ian Jekelis on guitars, signature ABORTED sound and why they don’t prefer to rehash the previous written material.
