Over the last few years, the English-based band known as Haken has made a huge impression on the progressive metal community, with each album bringing something new and refreshing to the table. Since their 2014 EP, ‘Restoration’, fans have been eager to hear more from their new favourite outfit, and come April 29th, all prayers will be answered with ‘Affinity’.
Metal Wani’s own Sandra Yeomans recently had the chance to speak with Haken’s frontman Ross Jennings, and the conversation explored a range of topics, from the recording of the new album, to writing in odd time signatures, to vocal influences. Jennings also discusses the 1980s influence on ‘Affinity’, and why the band just keeps getting better.
