‘King Of Prog rock’ aka Steven Wilson recently released his critically acclaimed new solo album 4 ½ (Read Our Review Here). Steven is currently touring North and South America in support of the new album. As most of you progsnobs are aware of our previous interview with Steven, we decided to have a chat with Steven again. Now the main agenda of this Interview was to provide details of live experience w.r.t. his upcoming tour. For your convenience, the Interview is divided into 2 parts.
In Part 1, Steven Wilson throws light on upcoming North & South American tour, how he plans the setlist for the tour, what kind of audience he expects from America as compared to his strong fanbase in Europe and how he connects with fans during a live show irrespective of a setlist played in random order. Steven also talks about writing songs based on loneliness and relation between playing in cities like New York, London and also incorporating the theme of isolation in the city through his music. Steven also throws light on why he doesn’t consider himself as a greatest guitar player or a singer and why he is best at creating an architecture which gives a cinematic experience to his fans.

In Part 2, Steven Wilson talks about the ‘Steven Wilson Experience‘, seeing his fans crying during the performance, whether fans enjoy the melodic side more than focusing on the lyrics during the live show, why Guthrie Govan and Marco Minnemann wont be part of this tour & why he considers his current lineup as ‘the best’ so far in his musical journey. Steven also throws light on doing something special on his 50th birthday next year, couple of songs written for upcoming solo album & possible Live DVD in future.
