Zakk Wylde is not the name that needs any introduction. When the Godfather of Heavy Metal Ozzy Osbourne hired Zakk, after first ignoring him first as another Randy Rhoads clone, as a guitarist for his band, everyone soon knew he was not an ordinary player. The man had an aura and spark on stage and in his music back then, which he still has now. Zakk Wylde’s solo career is a major detour from Black Label Society career: its southern rock composed of a bit of country and guitar solos. The kind of music you would listen to take break from all the chaos of the society, sitting in your (rocking) chair on your porch with a good beer in your hand, relaxing.

Currently gearing up for a European tour, Metal Wani’s Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi & Shivam Kalra had a chat with the virtuoso Zakk Wylde. Zakk discusses new solo album ‘Book Of Shadows II’ (Click Here To Read Our Review), songwriting, inspiration behind the album, writing melodic, beautiful solos, why comparing both solo albums would be unfair and why the album is meant for a road trip.

Zakk also talks about the lyrical approach, whether any of the material was meant for BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, possible new BLS album early 2017 and the musical direction it will be possess. Zakk also throws light on working with Legendary Ozzy Osbourne, whether we will ever see them on stage together or on a studio album and his take on Axl Rose joining AC/DC. Zakk also expresses why Axl Rose is the best fit for the band.
