Art Of Anarchy‘s latest album ‘The Madness’ is a tale of falling and falling hard, searching for redemption and seeking forgiveness and ultimately acceptance. Maybe not a timeless classic, but it is and will remain one of the most refreshing and dignified hard rock records in some time and deserves to be listened to as such. More than just a super-group, whether Art of Anarchy last just another day or a lifetime, the band have given the best of themselves over to fans in the form ‘The Madness’. And as fans, we can never really ask more of an artist than that. Best described through their own lyric, Art of Anarchy are a silent scream you can’t ignore.
Recently the band toured U.S. and Metal Wani’s Chuck Marshall had a quick chat with bassist John Moyer. He discusses the ongoing Art Of Anarchy U.S. Tour, fan response to the tour so far, how Scott Stapp joined the band after the death of previous singer Scott Weiland, writing and recording the new record ‘The Madness and his contribution to the new album.
He also talks about the songwriting process of ART OF ANARCHY as compared to other projects, his opinion on how Scott Stapp’s vocals make the record sound heavier, his opinion on why DISTURBED are working on a new E.P. as compared to the studio album and when DISTURBED is planning to release a full fledged studio album.
He throws light on the musical direction of the future DISTURBED material, whether the band are planning to write ‘heavier, aggressive’ songs as compared to the softer side of the band, difference between working with Disturbed, Geoff Tate, Adrenaline Mob and Art Of Anarchy and why is more interested in being a rhythmic bass player than melody driven one.
