Sanctuary went on tour and stopped in Hannover, Germany at the venue Musikzentrum. The venue went fuller as I entered. It was relaxed, half-full with people, but that was quite nice. Everyone in the venue had enough space to enjoy the show on stage. That is not the standard scenario in the venue though. The first track of the show “Arise and Purify” was from their newest record ‘The Year the Sun Died’. The next two songs of this album followed after it and the crowd seemed to like it very much. In general, they played an awesome set list which contained tracks from their entire history.
My favorite part of the show was the package of the two tracks “Question Existence Fading” and “Frozen” which was quite powerful and mighty. Especially tracks from ‘Into The Mirror Black’ made people headbang, yell and show their horns to the air. The guitarist on stage head banged like crazy. It was really nice to see! The like-able front man Warrel Dane told some funny stories and let us all laugh many times. He is just a cool guy and a great entertainer.

The light show was cool and always appropriate in respect to the songs Sanctuary played. The sound was brilliant and fine-balanced, so I could hear every detail of the music. I have absolutely nothing to complain about! It was a fine package in all aspects for the full length of the show, lasting for about 2 hours. The show ended with the tracks “Sanctuary” and “Taste Revenge” which was a really nice ending for the show.
The show was a nice ending of a weekday in Hannover. Sanctuary rocked the venue and let many faces beam. I had fun with a nice show and good sound. Thanks for the experience and see you next time, guys!
