Metal Wani’s Editor in Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi and Sarmad Ahmad caught up with Chrigel Glanzmann, frontman of folk metal juggernauts Eluveitie.
He discusses the upcoming acoustic album ‘Evocation II: Pantheon’ (Read Our Review Here) and the initial reception of the track ‘Epona. He also talks about why the sequel to ‘Evocation I’ was released after all this while, and how the the planning of the album started around their 2014 record ‘Origins’.
He also elaborates on the new members of the band helped in the writing process of the album as an entire unit, and how some tracks were just sprung out of the studio. He also comments on how the new vocalist Fabienne Erni received the foreground vocals of the album, and how the fans of the band are receiving the new members Alain Ackermann and Jonas Wolf, compared to ex members Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi and Merlin Sutter
Coming to the content of the album, he discusses how the Celtic folklore of both of the acoustic albums relate to each other, the amount of work that took place with the help of researchers and scientists to validate the authenticity of the content, and how it compares to the previous albums.
Lastly, he comments on the split with the previous members, his opinions on Cellar Darling‘s debut album, and how the split was handled with fair play and professionalism.
