GIG REVIEW: An Evening With FOZZY Live at Marquee Theater, Tempe, AZ

March 8th was not an ordinary Thursday night. It was a bit of an extra special night because the “Judas Rising Tour” hit Tempe Arizona at the Marquee Theater. As the night grew dark and the venue began to fill so did the excitement as the fans. Dark Sky Choir’s high pitched vocals and classic heavy metal rifts made for an awesome time. With Brian Allen belting out those high notes accompanied by the rest of the guys shredding their rifts. They got the crowd head banging. Their set was short but sweet.
Hailing all the way from Finland. Up next was a flash back to the 80’s with the energetic guys from Santa Cruz. From beginning to end it was nothing but pure adrenaline from the guys as they ripped up the stage. Their burst of enthusiasm captivated the crowd and made everyone feel like they were part of an 80’s music video. From high tops to tight pants with bleach blonde hair there was nothing left to perfect the look and feel of the show. The best part of their set was when Johnny Cruz jumped down into the crowd and ran through and went up to the top of the balcony making his way back down to the stage while still playing every note on his guitar. Over all their set was jammed packed full of talent.
Through Fire changed up the atmosphere. Their set was very powerful and emotional. Every song was filled with raw feelings especially when they played their infamous track “Breathe.” Their music was very powerful with a good range of variety. The crowd really enjoyed them and had a great time.
Finally the moment everyone had been waiting for. Fozzy hit the stage opening with their new song Judas. The dynamic of the band always results with a great performance every time they come to Arizona. They played a wide variety of songs such as “Drinkin with Jesus, Burn me out, Enemy and many many more. From a fog blasting gun to Chris Jericho’s infamous lilted up jacket Fozzy was phenomenal. The guys even took the time to acknowledge the over enthusiastic photographer and invited him on stage while they played to shoot. Every beat and every note was on point. Over all their set was awesome and as Chris Jericho said it himself, “Arizona you just made the list!”
