Glam legends Poison have mesmerized us with some of the best songs in the rock music.
Back in the ’80s, Poison released some of the best rock anthems such as Every Rose Has Its Thorn, Cry Tough, Talk Dirty To Me, Rock And Roll All Nite, Fallen Angel, I Want Action, I Won’t Forget You and more. Poison breakthrough happened in 1986 with the release of their debut album “Look What The Cat Dragged In”. The band was signed to Enigma Records and surprisingly this album became the best selling album on the label. The band ultimately got bigger and bigger over the years selling millions of albums and countless tours worldwide. Poison haven’t released an album in a long time and fans have been waiting for new music almost every year.
In a recent interview with OC Weekly, POISON‘s Rikki Rockett talked about vocalist Bret Michaels.
Here’s the complete statement:
“I think we need to get away from each other and do other things, but at the same time, I think he spent a little too much time away.”
“There’s definitely some resentment, but not resentment like I want him to fail. I want him to do good. I just want POISON to be important too, and I would like [him] to put a little more energy into POISON.”
Poison haven’t released new music in a long time. Rikki was further asked about whether the band is willing to write new music.
He said:
“I personally think we still have a lot of stories to tell.”
“Because the music business has changed so much, I don’t know what you’d get a full record out of POISON, but I do believe that you will see new music at some point in some capacity.”
Earlier Rikki had expressed interest in band members doing side projects. He said:
“I don’t care if anybody in this band does side things. I think it’s healthy; honestly, I do.
To just play the same songs and work with just the same people over and over and over again can become stale, and you do have to do some things. However, I think that Bret has taken it a little too far times and he needs to come back to the fray a little bit, and I think we should make more POISON music, make a record.
He further added:
He knows I feel that way; there’s no secret there. I’m not talking behind his back and I’m not talking sh*t.”
