A Scandinavian rock acoustic set at the beautiful Islington Assembly Hall on an early weekday. For a tough London audience one would expect a half-empty venue, but on this occasion was quite the opposite. A great atmosphere from the outset, with most of the venue ticket holders present for the only support band Witherfall.
Sonata Arctica were what the majority of people were there for, so clearly, the atmosphere reflected the excitement, as the time drew closer to the headliners reaching the stage. Nothing short of full engagement, and appreciation for the well-known songs, which were accompanied by sing-alongs by a great percentage of the audience, who didn’t seem to find any trouble remembering the lyrics. A deeply emotional experience for many.
