A sunny day indeed on the last day of March, even that it was announced bad weather, it was just perfect for a gig day and also sitting outside, interviewing the headliners’ guitar player, Septicflesh’s Christos Antoniou. And good this gig was on a Sunday and I could attend because I was waiting to see Septicflesh for the first time ever…
Because it was sunny, I met some people outside so I’ve kinda missed the performance of the Swiss death metallers from Science Of Disorder, which was the opening act and also their first gig along Septicflesh and the others from this tour.
Next up to hit the stage was Diabolical… Man, their show kicked a**! I’ve seen them before about 2 years ago, in a small venue in my hometown, but a few nights ago seemed like they were a new band. Later I met Sverker, the band’s vocalist and guitar player, and told him that this performance was beyond great. Probably because also the new songs from their new album are great, that is why it was great, gotta see Diabolical again very soon!
I am not so familiar with Krisiun’s music, I used to listen to them a long time ago, but this doesn’t mean their show wasn’t great. I recognized two or three songs by them, ”Hunter of Souls” is one of them. Maybe I should start listening to them again more.
Usually, most of the bands that are coming to Romania, aren’t disappointed by the public atmosphere and response and Septicflesh is one of those bands. Headbanging at the max., amazing atmosphere, Seth Siro’s communicating with the public: ”Romania, I am going to count to three and we will destroy!”
Also, the setlist was great, songs like ”Martyr”, ”Communion”, ”Lovecraft’s Death” to name a few, but when it came to one of the greatest songs by the symphonic death metallers, ”Anubis”, the public got crazy, to a point Seth said that so far, that was the greatest public and always the Romanians are screaming so loud when ”Anubis” comes up.
A nice evening with amazing bands and a great atmosphere. And yeah, Septicflesh are going to release a new album by next year, maybe!
