Metal Wani’s Jessie David, had a chance to chat with Satchel of Steel Panther. They discussed how he’s keeping busy during the Covid19 pandemic, the postponement of the Heavy Metal Rules Tour, why he switched from a Kramer guitar to a Charvel and the just-released B*tthole Burner Guitar Pedal.
Since the strip clubs are closed, Satchel has been keeping busy by writing new music. He said this time has given him the opportunity to work on new material. Joking that he already wrote 7 new Steel Panther albums in the time frame of a month. With the Heavy Metal Rules tour being postponed. Satchel says “How every long this takes to get through; we’re going to get through it. And we’re going to keep on rocking.” He is enjoying the extra free time, mainly spent watching p*rn, writing new music and re-learning all of Van Halen 1 on guitar again.
Since finding time to write new music can be challenging for bands, Satchel touches base on how this free time can be utilized to work on projects. He said that there are always new songs to write, and mentioned that a lot of bands don’t have downtime and have to write songs while on tour. With everything happening in the world this has given him time to work in his home studio, pantsless of course but still writing great riffs.
Recently announced Steel Panther have released the B*tthole Burner Guitar pedal. This pedal has the same circuit as the infamous P*ssy Melter. After the P*ssy Melter went viral, sold out and then went off the market they wanted to create something that sounded just as insanely good. Satchel says this is one of the best sounding distortion pedals of all time. The best way to buy The B*tthole Burner is online through their website before it sells out. Anyone who orders The B*tthole Burner will be entered for a chance to win a limited number of “Golden Tickets” that comes with P*nis Chili Pepper seeds. The goal here was to create the same circuit but with a new and feisty look. Having chili peppers in the shape of d*cks and great lighting.
Satchel finishes off the interview by saying “please wash your hands and wash your b*lls!”
