Metal Wani’s Jessie David had a chance to chat with Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge, Creed, and TREMONTI. During the interview, the two discussed Covid-19, how he’s keeping busy if he’s working on new music, and what his next projects have been. During the interview they also chat about his writing process, and where his musical passion is.
Last Year, Alter bridge released their sixth studio album “Walk the Sky” the band geared up to go on tour, and unfortunately the shows have been postponed.
Tremonti said “We’ve had so much momentum with this record, and we’ve had to cancel two tours already. But hopefully were planning on getting out, hopefully in September if things go right” Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge has been performing in some live streams for the time being.
There’s talk of concerts not returning until 2021 when asked if he would consider doing more live streams and how he’s keeping busy, Mark said that he’ll probably just do a lot of writing. Continuing to post videos on social media to keep busy, but if he can’t perform until next year, then he will keep busy by writing.
The next big project Mark Tremonti has been working towards it writing a song with Blues/Rock guitarist Eric Gales. Who is doing a record that Joe Bonamassa is producing? The two have been talking about doing a song together.
With the world feeling like it’s on hold, and musicians not being able to get together to record, Mark, tackles projects by continuing to write and getting the demoing done. There no exact timeline, but even if it’s within a couple of months he said artistically he can get a lot done. Mark Said, “There is nothing that gets me as excited as writing a new song, that’s really where my passion is.”
Marks self-titled band TREMONTI released their last album “A Dying Machine” in 2018 when asked if he’s working on a new album. Mark said that he is constantly writing, he tries to either write or play guitar every day to balance the two. As of now, there is no timeline for a new album. His vote is to tour Alter Bridge until next fall and then work on something new.
During all of this Mark Tremonti will continue to post Facebook I’ve videos, saying what you see is what you get.
