There’s a weird story of Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and bassist Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, where drummer Lars Ulrich revealed the time when he was chased by Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx while he was wearing 16-inch platform boots after iconic drummer cursed his band.
In an old interview, Lars Ulrich and singer James Hetfield revealed the reason Metallica wasn’t welcomed in Los Angeles.
In that interview, Lars said:
“It was 1982 and Motley Crue had just put out ‘Too Fast For Love.’ I remember one night out in front of the Troubadour, we’re standing in our Iron Maiden t-shirts, it was like after a couple of, you know, cold sore slits malt liquors. There were Nikki and Tommy, I was like ‘F*ck Motley Crue!’
”Nikki Sixx started chasing after me and the one thing I could do because you know five foot six of me I could run faster than he could in his 16-inch platform boots so it wasn’t a contest.”
