INTERVIEW: SOEN’s Joel Ekelöf On ‘Atlantis’, First North American Headlining Tour & Next Studio Album Planned In 2023

SOEN’s Joel Ekelöf had a chat with Metal Wani’s Julien Bigras ahead of the concert in Toronto, Canada.

They discuss the first North American headlining tour, meet and greet with the fans, his top 3 favorite TOOL songs, how he preserves his voice before every show and how SOEN as a band spent time during the Covid pandemic.

Joel addressed how the recently released live album ‘Atlantic’ came as a product of the Covid pandemic, and connected with some of the best musicians in Sweden to be part of ‘Atlantis’.

Joel also talks about Layne Staley, and Chris Cornell as his primary inspirations, and his current playlist consists of VOLA, Wheel, etc.

Joel also reveals that SOEN will enter the studio and record the new album in early 2023, how the band plan songwriting sessions in Sweden. SOEN will release the album in late 2023.
