Metallica recently made an important announcement on their Facebook page regarding the cancellation of their shows in Glendale, Arizona, due to the health condition of James Hetfield.
In a statement released on September 2, the representatives of the iconic metal band shared news about a positive COVID test within the group and explained how it led to the rescheduling of an upcoming gig on the M72 tour. The statement provided details:
“The second night in Glendale has been rescheduled to September 9. We deeply regret to inform you that the scheduled M72 concert at State Farm Stadium on the following day has been postponed to Saturday, September 9, 2023, due to the unfortunate COVID diagnosis affecting James.”
The post further expressed the band’s eagerness to make a return:
“We are sincerely disappointed and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We eagerly anticipate our return to complete the M72 No Repeat Weekend in Glendale next Saturday.”
Metallica’s representatives also assured fans of full refunds:
“All tickets for September 3 will be honored at the September 9 show. For further information, including refund details if you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, please visit Seat Geek. The statement clarified that despite the cancellation of the Glendale shows, all other scheduled events in the concert area would proceed as planned:
