Mötley Crüe’s guitarist recently teased an upcoming single, describing its vibe as reminiscent of “a little old Aerosmith.” During the August 14 episode of SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, the guitarist revealed that the new song, set to be released soon, is a fresh, original track from the band.
“Yes. Yeah. And it’s so cool. It reminds me of… It’s just like a little old Aerosmith,” he shared. “I don’t know. It’s just that Mötley cool riff. And Nikki [Sixx] is just amazing with that melody and all that stuff. He’s just incredible with those lyrics and melodies. So I’m really excited for the song to come out. I think people are going to super, super dig it.”
Back in late July, Nikki Sixx had mentioned that the band had already recorded a few tracks and was planning to release them soon. He clarified in an earlier interview with Rock 102.1 KFMA:
“When somebody takes a conversation of mine and they say, ‘Hey, are you planning on going in the studio?’ And I say, ‘We don’t see a reason to go in the studio right now,’” Sixx explained. “‘Cause we just recorded three songs [in April 2023]. We were just in the recording studio. We have a second single coming. We have a third single coming. So we’re not in a rush to… Vince [Neil] lives in Tennessee. I live in Wyoming. We’re on tour.”
The band’s most recent original release, “Dogs Of War,” dropped on April 26 as part of their new partnership with Nashville’s Big Machine Records. The track was accompanied by a fully animated CGI music video directed by Nick DenBoer.
In addition to “Dogs Of War,” Mötley Crüe’s April 2023 recording sessions with longtime producer Bob Rock produced another original track titled “Canceled” and a cover of the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!).” These two tracks have yet to be released.
